Working together for better
Girl Guiding NZ
In 2020, Oi began working with Girl Guiding NZ to develop the Oi Period Badge, aimed at destigmatising periods for young people and raising awareness around period poverty. These girls and young women also learn about the impact that synthetic period products can have on the environment.
We don’t think it’s right that some students in Aotearoa New Zealand who are menstruating miss school because they lack period products. So Oi supports KidsCan to reduce period inequity and reduce the stress on these students and their families by providing readily accessible products in schools across the country.
Through a ‘buy one, give one’ initiative, Oi helps Dignity give free period products to those who need them but lack access. Dignity provides Oi products into workplaces for their employees. For every pack these companies buy, another pack is donated directly back into the community through schools and other charity partners.
Ministry of Education
The New Zealand Government has chosen Oi as a supplier for its free period product initiative. This initiative is a powerful step towards combatting embarrassment and stigma, and preventing girls from missing classes, or being caught out without period products.
